and the related dementias are chronic progressive
diseases and ultimately fatal. Dementia is a permanent,
progressive disease that affects mostly people after
55 years. Alzheimers Alzheimers results from the
death of nerve cells and/or the loss of communication
among these cells. Currently there is no proven way
to prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. here is new
hope for the 4 million or so people who currently
suffer from Alzheimers and Dementia, as well as for
their family members. Advances in treatment options
have made it possible to slow the progression of the
disease.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form
of dementia, a neurologic disease characterized by
loss of mental ability severe enough to interfere
with normal activities of daily living, lasting at
least six months, and not present from birth. AD usually
occurs in old age, and is marked by a decline in cognitive
functions such as remembering, reasoning, and planning.
